
The North Carolina Film Critics Association has announced its 2025 nominations, with Sinners emerging as the most recognized film in the group’s history.
The film earned 19 nominations, surpassing the previous record of 17 held by Everything Everywhere All at Once. One Battle After Another followed closely with 16 nominations, while Marty Supreme received 11 and Frankenstein secured 10.
The nominations span major categories including Best Narrative Film, Best Director, acting categories, screenplay, technical awards, and ensemble honors.
Sinners is nominated for Best Narrative Film, Best Director for Ryan Coogler, Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan, and multiple technical awards including cinematography, editing, score, and special effects.
The NCFCA represents critics across North Carolina in print, broadcast, and digital media. Its selections highlight both mainstream and independent cinema.
Winners will be announced on January 26, concluding one of the most competitive awards races in the organization’s history.
