Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert Welcome First Child, Daughter Everley Capri

Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert have welcomed their first child, marking a major milestone for the longtime couple.

The pair announced the birth of their daughter, Everley Capri Hough, in a joint Instagram post shared Monday. Everley was born on December 29, and the announcement included a black and white photograph of the parents’ hands gently holding their newborn’s feet.

“Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,” the couple wrote in their message.

Hough, 40, and Erbert, 31, married in August 2023 after meeting years earlier through their work on Dancing With the Stars. Hough became one of the show’s most successful professional dancers before transitioning into a judging role, while Erbert spent multiple seasons as a featured dancer on the series.

The birth follows a challenging chapter in the couple’s lives. Erbert has previously spoken openly about experiencing pregnancy loss and recovering from a serious health scare that required emergency brain surgery more than two years ago. In recent months, she described the pregnancy as deeply meaningful after overcoming those obstacles.

Hough has also shared his excitement about becoming a father, saying in past interviews that parenthood was something he had long dreamed of. He has emphasized the importance of stepping back from work to be present during the early months of his daughter’s life.
