Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for Disclosure Day, Steven Spielberg’s upcoming science fiction film that explores humanity’s response to confirmed extraterrestrial contact.

The film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. Spielberg reunites with screenwriter David Koepp, marking another collaboration following their work on Jurassic Park and War of the Worlds.

In the trailer, Blunt plays a meteorologist whose live weather broadcast is disrupted by a mysterious force, suggesting the presence of something beyond human understanding. O’Connor portrays a determined figure intent on revealing evidence of alien life to the world. The footage features unsettling imagery including crop circles, unexplained animal behavior, and large scale public tension, while keeping major plot details deliberately restrained.

Universal describes the film as a global reckoning with truth, posing the question of how humanity would react if proof of alien life were undeniable. The trailer emphasizes atmosphere and suspense rather than spectacle, signaling a character driven approach.

Disclosure Day marks Spielberg’s return to science fiction following The Fabelmans in 2023 and continues a legacy that includes Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial, and Minority Report. The film is produced by Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger under Amblin Entertainment and is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
