The wait is over. The Summer I Turned Pretty returns to Prime Video on July 16 for its third and final season, and fans are bracing for an emotional farewell to Cousins Beach.

The hit series, based on Jenny Han’s bestselling YA trilogy, has been building toward a final decision for Isabel "Belly" Conklin. Played by Lola Tung, Belly has spent the first two seasons caught between brothers Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). Now, with college life in full swing and love on the line, Season 3 promises resolution — and plenty of drama.

According to the official synopsis, the story picks up four years after Season 2. Belly is nearing the end of her junior year of college and is still with Jeremiah, the brother she chose over her first love Conrad. She’s ready for a summer that feels simple again, but her past is never far behind. When Conrad returns, emotions resurface and Belly finds herself facing a life-changing decision.

In a twist that deviates from the books, Belly and Jeremiah are now engaged. The proposal and its consequences form a major part of the season's conflict. With neither mother fully on board and memories of Conrad still fresh, Belly begins to question whether she’s truly ready to move forward.

Author and showrunner Jenny Han has teased surprises in the final chapter. While Season 3 draws from her third novel We’ll Always Have Summer, Han told Entertainment Weekly that fans should not expect a one-to-one adaptation. There will be familiar moments, but also unexpected turns that could shake up everything viewers thought they knew.

Prime Video will release the first two episodes of the 11-episode season on July 16. New episodes will drop weekly every Wednesday at 3 a.m. ET. The series finale is scheduled for September.

Alongside Belly’s love story, the season will also explore the growth of other characters. Taylor (Rain Spencer) and Steven (Sean Kaufman) will get more development as they come into their own. The stakes feel higher for everyone this time around, as childhood summers give way to adult realities.

Season 3 has been promoted heavily with a nostalgic yet emotional trailer, highlighting Belly’s deepening bond with Jeremiah and the slow return of Conrad into her daily life. Voiceovers reflect on first loves and final choices, and it’s clear the series is aiming to give each character a full-circle ending.

The Summer I Turned Pretty is available exclusively on Prime Video. Viewers can subscribe to Prime for $14.99 per month or choose the standalone Prime Video plan for $8.99 per month. Amazon also offers a 30-day free trial for new users and discounted rates for students.

As one of the most talked-about YA adaptations of recent years, The Summer I Turned Pretty has built a loyal fan base split between Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah. By the end of this summer, only one can win Belly’s heart — and fans will finally have an answer.
