Los Angeles: Rosario Dawson has revealed that a scene she filmed as Claire Temple for Spider-Man: Brand New Day was ultimately removed from the final movie.

Dawson discussed the deleted appearance while speaking at GalaxyCon Raleigh 2026, explaining that she had filmed a scene for the latest Spider-Man film but was later told it would not appear in the finished movie.

The actress joked about the disappointment, particularly because she had already prepared behind-the-scenes material to share with fans after appearing in the film.

Dawson said she would still like to return as Claire Temple in a future Marvel project, noting that the character remains part of the same wider universe.

“I would love, I still, because everybody’s in it, it still means that my character is somewhere in that same universe, and I really love that. So I hope I get to be Claire again,” Dawson said.

Claire Temple, played by Dawson across several Marvel television projects, became known as a character who frequently treated injured superheroes.

The deleted Spider-Man: Brand New Day sequence reportedly showed Claire helping Peter Parker after his confrontation with Scorpion, played by Michael Mando.

The film's writers, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, previously discussed the scene and explained why it did not make the final cut.

McKenna described the sequence as a good scene but noted that the movie contained a large number of characters and scenes. Sommers similarly said the scene was strong and suggested that it was likely removed because of the film's running time.

According to the writers, the scene would have appeared before Peter went to see Bruce at the college, creating another transition in the story.

For Dawson, however, the possibility of returning as Claire Temple remains open.

She pointed out that characters such as Claire and Ahsoka can interact with many different figures across the Marvel and Star Wars universes, creating opportunities for unexpected appearances in future projects.

For now, Dawson's filmed appearance will remain among the scenes that did not make the final version of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but her comments suggest she remains interested in bringing Claire Temple back.
