ADOR has confirmed the termination of its exclusive contract with Danielle, marking a significant development in the ongoing contractual dispute involving NewJeans and its management.
In a statement released following weeks of discussions, ADOR said it was no longer feasible for Danielle to continue as a member of the group or as an artist under the agency. The decision comes after a Seoul district court ruling on October 30 affirmed the validity of NewJeans’ exclusive contracts, rejecting efforts to terminate them prematurely.
The update follows earlier confirmations that members Haerin and Hyein had returned to ADOR after the ruling. The agency has now also confirmed that Hanni has decided to remain with the label following extended discussions involving her and her family. Meanwhile, conversations with Minji are still ongoing, with ADOR saying no final decision has yet been reached regarding her status.
ADOR stated that discussions with the members revealed what it described as long standing misunderstandings fueled by distorted or incomplete information, which it says contributed to the dispute and disruption of group activities. The company said both sides agree that restoring public trust will require time and a clear presentation of facts.
The agency also disclosed its intention to pursue legal accountability against individuals it claims played a central role in escalating the conflict, including a member of Danielle’s family and former ADOR chief executive Min Hee jin. ADOR did not provide further details, citing the sensitivity of the matter.
NewJeans debuted in 2022 and quickly rose to prominence under the umbrella of HYBE, gaining international recognition for its distinct sound and cohesive group identity. Any permanent change to its lineup represents a major shift for the group and its fan base.
With Hanni’s return confirmed and Haerin and Hyein already back under ADOR, the agency says three members are now positioned to resume activities. However, Danielle’s departure and Minji’s unresolved status mean a full five member comeback appears uncertain for now.
ADOR concluded by stating it remains committed to resolving the situation in an orderly manner and aims to bring NewJeans back to fans as soon as possible.
