Ariana Grande has clarified her stance on new music, telling fans that a fresh album is not arriving anytime soon as she prepares for a packed year of acting, touring, and promotional commitments.
In a new interview with Variety, the pop superstar said she will not release new music before her Eternal Sunshine Tour begins in June. “No, definitely not. Nothing is coming before May,” Grande said, adding with humor that fans sometimes seem to expect more than she can realistically deliver.
“I love them so much,” she explained. “But sometimes I want to ask, do you think there’s another version of me out there who had time to write an album?”
Following the interview, Grande addressed fan reactions on Instagram, clarifying that she never promised music “soon” and blamed a possible misunderstanding on communication glitches. In one comment, she joked, “Ma’am, I would need an extra brain and four more arms.”
Grande released her latest album Eternal Sunshine in March 2024, followed by a deluxe edition a year later. Since then, she has shifted much of her focus to acting, including her role in the Wicked film franchise and several upcoming projects.
Beyond music, Grande is set to appear in the comedy film Focker In Law in November 2026, star in season 13 of American Horror Story, and voice a character in the animated adaptation of Oh, the Places You’ll Go! alongside Josh Gad.
Despite the absence of new music in the immediate future, Grande hinted that another major creative project is in development. “There is something else I’m very excited about,” she told Variety. “I can’t say much yet, but it inspires me deeply. It contains multitudes.”
For now, Grande says her priority remains delivering her tour and continuing her acting work, while assuring fans that music will return when the time is right.
