Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming romantic comedy ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ will no longer release on March 4, with the makers deciding to delay the film amid unfinished post-production work and intense box office competition.
According to industry sources, key technical work remains pending, including final post-production and a song yet to be shot. The producers have opted against rushing the process, choosing instead to ensure the film meets quality expectations before announcing a new release date.
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the film features an ensemble cast led by Khurrana, alongside Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh. The story is set in the world of Prajapati Pandey and promises a light-hearted mix of comedy, romance, and situational drama. The project is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra, with Juno Chopra as creative producer.
The delay also comes as March 2026 undergoes a major reshuffle at the Indian box office. Several high-profile films, including Gabru, Dacoit, and Ram Charan’s pan-India project Peddi, have moved out of the month to avoid overcrowding and a high-stakes clash between Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ and Yash’s ‘Toxic’ later in March.
Industry insiders say exhibitors and distributors are urging caution, with filmmakers increasingly opting for clearer release windows rather than risking limited screens and divided audiences. With multiple releases shifting to April, March 2026 may now see fewer films but significantly higher stakes.
The makers of ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’ are expected to announce a revised release date in the coming weeks.
