The long-awaited anime adaptation of Steel Ball Run, part of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise, premiered on Netflix with an extended 47-minute opening episode, drawing strong early reactions from fans worldwide.
The series, based on Hirohiko Araki’s manga, marks the seventh major arc of the franchise and introduces a new storyline set in 19th century America. The opening episode was released globally, offering viewers a longer-than-usual introduction to the story’s setting and characters.
Steel Ball Run follows Johnny Joestar, a former jockey who is left paralyzed after an accident, as he enters a cross-country horse race across the United States. He teams up with Gyro Zeppeli, a mysterious competitor, in a high-stakes contest with a $50 million prize.
