More than 1.8 million students across India are waiting for the Central Board of Secondary Education to announce the Class 12 board examination results for 2026, as growing activity on DigiLocker and multiple official portals has fueled speculation that the scorecards could be released soon.

A “Coming Soon” notification has appeared on DigiLocker’s CBSE result section, a move that historically signals backend preparation for digital marksheet uploads before public release. However, CBSE has not officially confirmed the exact date or time for the Class 12 results.

Students will be able to access their provisional marksheets through:

  • cbse.gov.in
  • results.cbse.nic.in
  • cbseresults.nic.in
  • DigiLocker
  • UMANG App

To download the result, candidates will need:

  • Roll number
  • School number
  • Admit card ID
  • Date of birth

The digital marksheet will include subject-wise marks, practical scores, grades and overall pass status. Official certificates will later be issued through schools and DigiLocker’s academic repository system.

DigiLocker and UMANG Expected to Handle Heavy Traffic

Education officials and teachers have advised students to keep login credentials ready, as heavy traffic is expected once the result links go live.

CBSE’s integration with DigiLocker and the government-backed UMANG platform is intended to reduce pressure on official result websites, which often slow down during major announcements.

Students with internet connectivity issues will also be able to access results through IVRS and SMS services.

Evaluation Process Faced Technical Challenges

This year’s Class 12 evaluation process reportedly experienced technical disruptions after CBSE expanded its digital On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.

Teachers involved in evaluation flagged server slowdowns, portal login problems and delays in loading scanned answer sheets, according to reports cited in the coverage.

Despite the glitches, officials have indicated that the board is prioritizing accuracy and verification before publishing the final scorecards.

Over 18 Lakh Students Await Results

According to official figures referenced in reports, approximately 18.59 lakh students appeared in the CBSE Class 12 board examinations conducted between February and April this year.

Last year, the overall Class 12 pass percentage stood at 88.39 percent, with more than 1.11 lakh students scoring above 90 percent marks.

Students seeking admission to institutions such as the IITs are also closely tracking the results, as many higher education programs require both entrance exam qualification and minimum Class 12 marks eligibility.

CBSE Warns Students About Fake Result Links

As anticipation grows online, CBSE and cybersecurity experts have warned students against fake result websites and social media scams claiming to provide early access to marksheets.

Students have been advised not to share OTPs, admit card details or login credentials on unofficial websites and to rely only on verified CBSE and government portals.

How Students Can Check CBSE Class 12 Result 2026

Students can check results through DigiLocker by:

  1. Opening DigiLocker or results.digilocker.gov.in
  2. Signing in with registered credentials
  3. Searching for “CBSE Class 12 Result 2026”
  4. Entering roll number, school number and admit card ID

CBSE is expected to issue a formal announcement once the result links become active.
