Los Angeles: Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has revealed she has been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer, sharing the news with fans after receiving results from a recent medical procedure.

The 38-year-old Jersey Shore star disclosed the diagnosis in a TikTok video posted February 20 following a cone biopsy. Doctors identified the condition as adenocarcinoma, an early stage form of cervical cancer.

“It came back Stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma,” Polizzi told followers. “Obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early.”

Early detection brings cautious relief

Polizzi said the biopsy removed the tumor and surrounding tissue appeared clear, a development doctors consider encouraging. However, she noted additional testing is still required to confirm the cancer has not spread.

Her next steps include a PET scan and likely hysterectomy, while she expects to keep her ovaries.

“Gotta get the cervix and uterus out,” she said, adding that final decisions will depend on upcoming scan results.

Urgent message to women

The mother of three used the moment to urge women not to delay routine screenings, revealing she had dealt with abnormal Pap smear results for several years.

“I’m 38 years old and I’ve been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for three or four years now,” she said. “Instead of putting it off because I was scared, I just went and did it.”

Health experts say cervical cancer is highly treatable when caught early through regular screening and HPV testing.

Raising awareness

Polizzi previously revealed in January that doctors had found abnormal cells following a colposcopy and biopsy. She said sharing her journey publicly is intended to encourage other women to seek timely care.

According to the American Cancer Society, more than 13,000 cervical cancer cases are diagnosed annually in the United States, though death rates have fallen significantly due to improved screening and prevention.

For now, Polizzi told fans she remains focused on treatment and staying positive as she awaits further results.
